Toronto-based Filipino Fashion Designer Tristan Licud is a natural born artist with a background in architecture, an emerging talent in the Canadian Fashion Industry who concentrates on high-end ready to wear to couture pieces for both men’s and women’s fashion.
Born in June 21st 1990, Tristan Licud truly recognized his talent in arts at very young age showing interest in designing especially in architecture and fashion. Already majoring in Architecture, Tristan made the pivotal decision to shift his degree and interest to the world of fashion. Utilizing his architecture experience with lines and proportions, Tristan combined these visual techniques to create timeless and well-balanced pieces.
My background in architecture was very useful; it gave me deep perspective in understanding lines and proportions in drafting patterns. Originally trained for Custom-Fit Pattern Drafting which he acquired from the Fashion Institute of the Philippines in 2011, Tristan prepares himself for entering the lucrative world of fashion. He moved in Toronto, Canada with his Family in September 2012 for a new beginning. With his optimist perspective he carries his dream to become a fashion designer while starting a new life in Canada. He pursues his studies in fashion designing at George Brown College in 2013 and becomes active in showcasing his creations to various Fashion Events in Toronto at the same time.
Nowadays Tristan Licud also works as a Design Engineer in a mechanical engineering company that manufactures textile products for industrial application in which he utilize his architectural background through designing parts using CAD and 3D works combine with his fashion background by developing pattern pieces for production.
As an independent young Fashion Designer, Tristan Licud owner of TFL COUTURE is honored to be part of Toronto Men’s Fashion Week this year. He will be showing his Menswear line for Fall/Winter ready to wear collection which was inspired by High Fashion Street Style.
